Air Valves

AV type air valves, designed and manufactured by TB Hydro, operate automatically and do not require external power. They are used in pipelines for hydroelectric power or water transmission lines. High-efficiency aeration is achieved by the movement of the disc due to vacuum created in the pipeline. Closing occurs under spring load. The de-aeration process is carried out by a side valve. Connections are according to EN/ASME standards or individual requirements. Valves are always designed according to individual customer requirements. Other applications and media are available upon request.

Wide range of diameters: from 150 to 1000 mm.

Pressure:

Standard pressure range: from 6 to 63 bar.

Sealing:

Soft Seal (Rubber)

Medium:

Water temperature up to 70°C.

AV Air Valve Design

Body

The single-piece welded body is equipped with connections for mounting an air release valve with an inspection valve, and a water leakage drain.

Damper

The damper reduces the closing speed of the valve and ensures smooth movement of the closing disc.

Closing

The sealing disc is closed by a suitably selected set of springs.

Actuator and Equipment for AV Type Air Release and Vacuum Valves

Actuator:

Spring with Oil Damper:

  • Spring or set of springs for automatic closing
  • Automatic opening via vacuum created in the pipeline
  • Oil damper for smooth, slowed opening and closing

Standard Equipment:

  • Visual and electrical position indicator

  • Linear position indicator
  • Cabling and terminal box
