Piston Control Valves

PLV type piston control valves are resistant to high hydraulic loads. They are designed for regulating water flow in water distribution systems, hydroelectric power generation, and industrial applications. Control valves designed and manufactured by TB Hydro are optimized to minimize the loss coefficient and reduce cavitation.
Installation length and connections are according to EN/ASME standards or individual requirements.

Diameter:

Wide range of diameters from 300 to 2000 mm.

Pressure:

Pressure range up to 25 bar.

Sealing:

Soft Seal + Metal-to-Metal

Additional Options:

  • With perforated cylinder
  • Without perforated cylinder

PLV Type Control Valve Design

Body

The body is welded from plates, forgings, and pipes.

Piston

The piston is made of stainless steel. Actuator transmission elements (axial movement) are made of carbon and/or stainless steel.

Main Seal

A polyurethane profile (90ShA) is secured to the piston with a stainless steel clamping ring. Additionally, there's a metal-to-metal seal between a stainless steel ring bolted to the body and the surface on the stainless steel piston.

Shafts

The shafts are rotatably mounted in the body via maintenance-free, self-lubricating bearings.

Outlet Section

Can be manufactured in 3 variants:

  • A - straight outlet, without energy dissipation (cut-off edge)
  • B - with perforated cylinder for energy dissipation (perforated cylinder)
  • C - with a flow-directing cone (cone shape)

The drive is transmitted to the piston via a crank mechanism.
